Yet again a very long gap between two posts..

anyway, lets get to the point ..
This idiotic and dumbest incident happened in may 2004..
My 10th board exams were over and those anxious last few days were left. Results could come anytime..
Me and one of my friend Chandra pratap decided to go to Kanpur. It was my plan as my mom's side stay there..So i gave him a suggestion that we will go there.. and with in 2-3 days anyway results will be out and then we both will tak admission in the best admission school of Kanpur and pass out 12th from there..
He agreed to the plan and we reached Kanpur..
After the results were out , we faced some problems in admission [thats a altogether different story] and i consoled him .. lets go back to our native , Katihar, Bihar..
We will take admission there only as there was no choice left. We had wasted a lot of days,
anyway so here we were.. We had to travel from KANPUR to KATIHAR.. and travel soon else we wouldn't even get admission in the lone school [Kendriya Vidyalaya ] of katihar.. [again its an altogether different story as in how i did not take admission in katihar and came to bangalore..]
To continue on the same page.. train story..
So my Mamu got us a confirmed ticket for the same night train..
Amrapali Express..Train was suppose to depart at 8 p.m from kanpur.
We called up enquiry @ 7 p.m and gotta know that train is lil late and it will arrive at 9 p.m
after one hour we called again and we gotta know that train is one more hour late..
and the cycle repeated after one more hour..
Nevertheless when the enquiry ppl almost confirmed that sir train will surely come by 11.45 , my mamu said , lets leave..
He dropped me and my friend at station at 11.30 p.m and said since he will get late too much , he will leave..
We happily asked him to leave as we knew train would come in another 15-20 mins or max to max in half an hour..and then we will leave..
But boss dont forget we were in U.P [uttar pradesh] ..
both of waited found out the platform number where the train would come [no 8] and went there and started waiting near to the place where our boggie was supposed to come..
12.30 a.m - No news..
1.30 a.m - No news..
2.30 a.m - No news..
3.30 a.m - No news..
4.30 a.m - No news..
5.30 a.m - No news..
6.30 a.m - No news..
7.30 a.m - No news..
We realized we had slept on the platform the whole night..
one hour i used to sleep and my fren used to be awake..
and the next hour it used to be my turn to be awake..
[Bhai we had to do watchmangiri for our luggages :P :P]
the most awkward part was i couldn't call my mamu and disturb him in btw the night.
and couldnt even go home as we never knew what time train might come off.
But finally at 8 a.m i thought now mamu would have got up . i called him up.
Me: Mamu , train has still not come..
Mamu : [Still sleepy] Whattttttttttt ???? what the hell were u doing whole nyt at station..
Me: i just roamed around and slept and did some watchmangiri of our luggages.
Mamu: u could ve called him , i would ve got u home..Anyway so did u guys have anything ??
Me: no not yet..
Mamu : ok waith i will get some food there..
We hung the phone call.
I asked chandu to stay there and went to brush my teeth.. and told him that he can go once i come back..
Scene1
i am near a tap some 100m away from my fren was standing..
Announcement1 : Amrapali express is coming at platform no 4.
Announcement 2: Amrapali express platform no 4 pe aa rahi hai..
Me: WTF ??? [remember we are standing at platform no 8 since 12 hrs now]
i ignored the announcement thinking that DUDE !! Hundreds of ppl are standing at no 8 , train always comes at no 8.. how can it come at no 4 today..
Scene 2:
I am near the luggage.. my fren is near that tap..
Announcements repeat..:
Me: [by now full scared..] Fuckk what to do now..
dunno where is chandu.. [mind u we didnt have phones that time].. i had to wait for him to come so that we could go from 8 to 4 soon..
Scene 3:
Chandu comes after 10 mins ..walking as if he is walking in his personal lawn..
Bhai did u hear the announcement ?? these guys have gone mad or what.. shouting our wrong platform nos , how many ppl can miss their train bec of this stupidity..
ME: yeah dude.. mad buggers , but inside i was very scared..

my dumb mind decides to go to enquiry located at platform 1..
[leaving chandu with luggage at no 8]
I crossed platform 4 on my way from 8 to 1.. saw a train there neglected that.. and reached enquiry..
Scene4:
Me: oh bhaiya ye amprapaali express kab aayegi aur kis number pe aayegi.
GUY in enquiry booth : 4 number p[e khadi hai.
ME: ********* kya baat kar rahe hai..
guy: bhaiya jaiye nahi toh gaadi choot jayegi..
I start running like a dog from 1 to 8 passing no 4 on my way and praying that train , just wait for 5 more mins baby i will be there..
Scene 5:
I shout from 50 m away..Saale Chandu Gaadi 4 number pe lagi hai..
Chandu throws the luggage on me.
picks up the remaining ones and we run.. and run and run..and run..
Scene 6:
Remember the last scene of DDLJ..
yeah ryt.. but here both of us were on stairs..getting down to platform no 4 and train was leaving..
Then what ??
GHANTA !! we missed it..
We literally Saw AMRAPAALI EXPRESS going ryt infront of our eyes , after we waited for it for 13 hours..
Me and my fren looking at each other..
Dunno whether to cry or laugh..
Fuckkk suck a KLPD it was..
we ended up laughing our heads off..
We were amazaed at our achievement and proud that no one can miss a train this way..
Scene7:
Called up mamu from PCO.
MAMU: due whats up with u guys , i just called up enquiry and they said train left..
Me: yes nanu train left.. :( and it left us here..
[After narrating this sad story to him]
Mamu : hahaha dont worry stay there i am on my way with the breakfast prepared by ur nani [grand ma]
ME:[ *HAPPPY* i was damnn hungry and irritated..] ok come soon..
He came picked us , we ate.. He got our tickets cancelled [only consolation being we got FULL money refund as trainn was abnormally late.] and we went back to my nanighar :P :P
Only to leave again same evening but not in AMRAPAALI this time..
